How to prevent and deal with short circuit of lead-acid battery
At present, lead-acid battery is the most widely used high-efficient battery in high-power power supply. In the process of using lead-acid battery, short circuit will be caused due to various reasons, which will affect the use of the entire battery. How to prevent and deal with the short circuit of lead-acid battery?
Charge and discharge regularly. Reduce the charging current and voltage, and check whether the safety valve body is smooth. Take a 12V battery as an example. If the open circuit voltage is greater than 12.5V, it means that there is more than 80% of the battery's energy storage. If the open circuit voltage is less than 12.5V, it needs to be charged immediately.
In addition, the open circuit voltage is less than 12V, indicating that the battery has less than 20% of stored power and can no longer be used. Because the battery is in a short circuit state, its short circuit current can reach hundreds of amperes. If the short circuit contact is firm, the short circuit current will be greater, and all connected parts will generate a lot of heat. In the weak link, the heat will be greater, and the connection will be fused, resulting in short circuit. It is very likely that explosive gas will be generated locally in the battery, or the explosive gas collected during charging will generate sparks when the connection is fused, which will lead to battery explosion; If the short circuit time of the battery is relatively short or the current is not too high, although it may not cause fusing at the connection, the short circuit will still cause overheating, damage the adhesive around the connecting strip, and have potential safety hazards such as liquid leakage.
