Which is better, maintenance free battery or ordinary battery
According to the types of batteries currently owned by the market, batteries can be roughly divided into two types: traditional lead-acid batteries and maintenance-free batteries that have been popularized in recent years.
The lead-acid battery is composed of positive and negative plates, separators, shells, lithium battery electrolyte and terminal piles, etc. The chemical reaction of its self-discharge rate depends on the active material of the positive plate and the active material of the negative plate in the lithium battery electrolyte ( Dilute sulfuric acid solution), in which the grid of the plate is made of lead-antimony alloy. The liquid reduction phenomenon occurs in traditional batteries during use. This is also because the antimony on the grid will contaminate the lead on the negative plate, resulting in excessive decomposition of water, and a large amount of oxygen and hydrogen will escape from the positive and negative plates respectively. The battery electrolyte is reduced.
The maintenance-free battery is made of lead-calcium alloy, because the battery is made of lead-calcium alloy as the grid, so the amount of water decomposition generated during charging is small, and the amount of water evaporation is also low. The gas is also very small, so compared with the traditional battery, it has the advantages of no need to add any liquid, less corrosion to the terminal head, wire and body, strong resistance to overcharging, large starting current, and long power storage time.
The lithium battery electrolyte (water) in the traditional lead-acid battery will be consumed, and water needs to be added regularly; the so-called maintenance-free battery means that there is no need to check and add water (lithium battery electrolyte) during the entire service cycle. Generally speaking, the work of adding water to the battery will be carried out by 4S maintenance workers during regular maintenance, which is also a very simple maintenance. In terms of performance, the performance and durability of maintenance-free and water-filled batteries are almost the same. Therefore, for buyers and customers, there is no big difference between the two batteries in a sense, and there is no need to care about the batteries that need to be maintained.
