What should be paid attention to in the maintenance of the battery
In order to prolong the service life of the battery and avoid failures such as breakdown, we should pay attention to the following points in the maintenance of the battery:
For maintenance-free batteries, check the color of the electric eye frequently. Green means sufficient power; black means insufficient power, and supplementary charging is required; gray or light yellow means insufficient electrolyte, because the maintenance-free battery cannot be filled, the battery should be replaced immediately.
The battery should be placed firmly on the car to prevent the battery connection from falling off due to vibration during driving, resulting in interruption of power supply.
Keep the battery surface clean. If solid oxide is found on the pole, it should be washed with hot water in time to remove it, so as not to affect the conductivity between the pole and the terminal. After cleaning, wipe the surface of the battery clean, and spread butter on the poles and terminals to ensure that the poles are not oxidized.
Check the electrolyte level at least once a month. For batteries without marking lines, the electrolyte can be added 10-15mm higher than the plate; for batteries with two red lines, the electrolyte should not exceed the upper red line, otherwise the electrolyte may overflow between the positive and negative electrodes to form self-discharge. Causes the engine to be difficult to start and shortens battery life.
Adjust the concentration of electrolyte according to different regions and seasons. In our Northeast winter, the concentration of the electrolyte should reach 1.28 g/ml.
For cars that have not been used for a long time, the car should be started every other month or so, and run at a medium speed for about 20 minutes, otherwise the car will not start when the car is used for too long.
The total time to start the car each time should not exceed 5 seconds, and the interval between restarts should not be less than 15 seconds. If the car does not start after multiple starts, the cause should be found from other aspects such as the circuit, ignition coil or oil circuit, and the engine should be restarted after troubleshooting, otherwise the battery will be over-discharged and the service life will be affected.
