Can UPS batteries be mixed with old and new?

    In the use of UPS batteries, sometimes new and old UPS batteries are used in series. As everyone knows, this approach will shorten the service life of UPS batteries. Because the new UPS battery has more chemical reaction substances, the terminal voltage is high, and the internal resistance is small (the internal resistance of the new 12V UPS battery is only 0.015-0.018Ω); while the terminal voltage of the old UPS battery is low, the internal resistance is large (12V The internal resistance of the old UPS battery is above 0.085Ω).  

    If the new and old UPS batteries are mixed in series, the charging voltage at both ends of the old UPS battery will be higher than the charging voltage at both ends of the new UPS battery in the charging state. As a result, the new UPS battery is not fully charged and the old UPS battery is already overcharged. ; In the discharge state, because the charge capacity of the new UPS battery is larger than that of the old UPS battery, the old UPS battery is over-discharged as a result, and even the old UPS battery is reversed. Therefore, the UPS battery must not be mixed with new and old.

     In addition, UPS batteries with different charge capacities cannot be mixed in series, because when two UPS batteries with different charge capacities are used in series, the UPS batteries with small charge capacities tend to be overcharged or discharged, shortening their service life.

Therefore, UPS batteries CAN NOT be mixed with old and new.
